Borovets is a ski resort in the heart of the Rila mountains. In 2010 a brand new MTB Park was built to attract visitors in the summer. Many Bulgarian riders have said this Park has possibly the best downhill course in the country. Comments that were backed by The Park winning The National Downhill Bike Championship for 2010 and 2011.
Borovets not only has awesome dowhill trails but great XC and Freeride trails too. Access is via The main Gondola to the top of the mountain and by a chair at the front of the Rila Hotel. There are plenty of restaurants and Taverns in the resort and you can find them all at the bottom of the trails as you ride down.
Borovets has alot more to offer too from hiking, trekking, quad biking and more. Prices are very reasonable for food and drink in Borovets. The locals are very friendly and give you a very warm welcome.
Sopot is known for it's European Centre Of Extreme Sports And Meditation. Located around 130km to the east of Sofia in the Stara Planina Range. Sopot is a town which has many things to offer. Good restaurants, bars, nightclubs and shopping. There is a nearby Chinese Takeaway and Pizza delivery. Shambhala bike park is in the north of the town and there are also many other activities that can be found here. Paragliding, Hiking, Trekking, Adventure park plus many more.
Mountain biking in Sopot is massive. Hosting The Shambhala Open Cup which has won a round of The European Continental Cup for 2013. As well as the downhill they also have 4X and XC trails here. The lift takes you up to 1720mtrs above sea level. The downhill course is 3400mtrs in length and 850mtrs vertical drop. The XC course 3000mtrs and 300mtrs vertical drop.
Bansko can be found in the foothills of the Pirin Mountain Range. The Rila and Rhodhope Mountain range also surround the bowl that Bansko sits in. Bansko is a town which made it's name as Bulgaria's top Ski resort. The summer lends itself to MTB. There are some fantastic trails here with beautiful scenery. Mainly XC with Freeride descents. There are over 2000km of GPS mapped trails here most being in their natural, raw state.

Bansko itself has many restaurants, bars, cafes and shops. The old town is the setting in the summer where drink and food can be found at very competetive prices. A local glass of beer coming in at around 80pence an average meal around £4.00. The temperatures here in the summers on average are around 33degree's with the end of July and August being the warmest and can get into the 40's. .
The mountain above the capital Sofia. Endless scope of single track trails. Some steep with natural obstacles. Lift lines, tree lined and open trails. Scope for all type of rider and level. There is road access to the top of the traild and also uplift when they are running. Restaurants around the bottom of the mountain and at the top of the lifts. Local prices and fantastic value for money. There are 2 access points from different sides of the mountain.
